RCA Introduces Best in Value Class of Digital Two-Way Radios Through Its US Distributor, Discount Two-Way Radio

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — RCA is disrupting the two-way radio industry today by introducing a new line of digital radios through its North American distributor, Discount Two-Way Radio, based in Los Angeles and serving all 50 states.

“While other companies are maintaining their high prices for digital radios, RCA is reducing prices while increasing the quality,” said Ken Klyberg, chief operating officer of Discount Two-Way Radio. “We’re offering the newest technology at prices that other companies charge for older analog technology.”

The new technology offers crystal clear sound comparable to a cell phone. That’s a distinct advantage over analog radios that have static. Battery life is up to 40% percent longer than analog.

“As technology advances, prices should come down. That’s what we’re doing. Other radio companies are maintaining their high prices. We’re offering a great price without sacrificing quality or performance,” he said.

The RDR2500, RDR2550 and RDR2600 radios use the latest DMR technology, which is specifically designed to meet the needs of schools, colleges, manufacturing, warehousing, construction and hotels.

RCA, one of the most trusted brand names in two-way communications, is unveiling its PRODIGI™ Professional Digital Radio Products RDR series in early December.

Operational in both digital and analog modes, the PRODIGI™ Series delivers crystal clear, dependable communication. Simple and cost-effective, the RCA digital radios are designed to connect your workforce efficiently and provide you with reliable communication, allowing you focus on growing your business.

“Once people check it out they will be wowed by the quality, coverage, price, and after sales support,” he said.

Both business and government two-way radio users will find superior service and support when they buy their radios from Discount Two-Way Radio.

“You’ll never get a busy signal when you call us,” he said. “We take pride in offering the best service and support in the industry.”

Discount Two-Way Radio offers superior service, repairs, and programming.

The company offers:

  • Rapid turnaround on repairs because it maintains an in-house staff and inventories all parts from major manufacturers. Most local vendors don’t provide repairs or keep parts in stock. Instead, they send the product to the manufacturer to fix. But that can take 30-45 days to return to the customer. “Schools and businesses can’t wait that long for repairs,” he said. “We turn around repairs less than 10 days because we stock all parts from all major manufacturers and have experienced technicians on staff. We have a full-service department and can service all major manufacturers’ brands. Instead of weeks or months, we can repair products in days.”
  • Free shipping to and from the repair facility.
  • Longest warranties in the industry
  • Support via phone and online
  • Programming services included FREE with every radio purchase

“We are striving to be more and more customer-service oriented. A lot of people say that, but they don’t do that. We really do,” he said. As the number of resellers has dwindled from 10,000 to about 2,000, many local companies can’t – and don’t – offer support, service, repairs or training. Discount Two-Way Radio is the leader in the field for customer service. We are setting new standards for customer service.”

About Discount Two-Way Radio
Just as technology was increasingly becoming foreign and impersonal, Discount Two-Way Radio came on the scene as a family-owned company with a passionate enthusiasm to build something different. Together with his father, Ben Burns started Discount Two-Way Radio in a small apartment in 1997, with no customers, no contacts, no money, and no product line. Discount Two-Way Radio has achieved considerable success growing the company to serve over 62,000 customers using a direct, straightforward approach that cuts through the hype and smoke that can sometimes surround advancements in technology.

Together, Ben and his father wanted to offer customers a respectful experience; to be the source of quality radio products, the best prices, and technological service that is more like working with friends and family than with a bland corporation’s glossy sales pitch.

With an honest, almost old-fashioned work ethic that primarily consisted of “pounding the pavement” with a reliable product and personable customer care, together they grew their company from the ground up to where it is today: a thriving corporation that maintains a dynamic full-time staff and 60,000 square foot warehouse. Discount Two-Way Radio has been listed as one of Inc. 5000’s fastest growing companies since 2007.

Which Affordable DMR Digital Two-Way Radio System Gives You the Best Bang for the Buck?

In various industries from manufacturing to law enforcement to education, timely, reliable communication is not a luxury but an absolute necessity. Despite everyone owning a cell phone, two-way radios are the gold standard in communication equipment for professionals — and this isn’t changing in the foreseeable future.

Given that technology is always advancing, it pays to keep your equipment up-to-date. You want to invest in a system that meets all of your important criteria and will perform at that level for years to come.

For the most bang for your buck, I recommend the RCA BR200D.

Let’s see how it stacks up to the competition.

A much cheaper alternative to the Motorola CP200D

Motorola recently pulled a fast one on its customers by discontinuing their very popular CP200 model and replacing it with the more expensive CP200D. So if you are used to buying the CP200, any new radios are going to cost you a lot more if you buy from Motorola — even if you have no intention of going digital any time soon.

However, RCA has a solution in the BR200D, which operates in both analog and digital modes and is compatible with every other DMR digital two-way radio on the market.

Packed with features

The BR200D is a compact, durable digital two-way radio that is a smart solution for your communication needs. The first thing you need to know is that it comes with a 3-year warranty — the longest in the industry — which demonstrates how durable the radio is.

It weighs in at a mere 9.5 ounces with a standard battery, less than the average 14-plus ounces of the competition. At 4.5” x 2.1” x 1.3” it is a light and compact radio that won’t feel like you’re carrying a brick on your belt and doesn’t sacrifice durability to do it. That small frame holds a 1 watt speaker that provides crisp, clear audio and is significantly louder than most other two-way radios. It also has a healthy battery life of 13 hours with moderate usage — more if you opt for the high-capacity battery.

RCA has been designing and producing two-way radios for military and industrial purposes for over 90 years, and makes its radios to last. The BR200D is dust proof, water resistant and shock resistant. It works right out of the box and is compatible with all major two-way radio brands like Motorola, Vertex, Icom, Kenwood and more so you can get off to a running start.

A few more bells and whistles:

  • programmable side buttons
  • monitor function
  • private and group calls
  • encryption
  • stun/kill/revive feature to ensure no prying ears will be privy to your conversations due to a lost radio
  • large 1” PTT button works even with gloved hands
  • 16 channels
  • crystal clear audio
  • plus lots more (call and ask!)

To sum up, the RCA BR200D is not only one of the best pound for pound two-way radios in its class, but it’s also one of the most reasonably priced.

When it comes to picking the right model for your organization and really getting the biggest bang for your buck, you can’t go wrong with this model — it’s an excellent workhorse radio and won’t let you down. Take advantage of the BR200D special bundle pricing Discount Two-Way Radio.com is offering for a limited time only.

How an Arizona Fire Department Got New P25 Radios Without Grant Money

With the millions of things that emergency responders have to worry about, having clear and reliable communication while on the job should be the last thing they fret over.

That’s why buying two-way radios which meet the P25 CAP standard is a must. The problem is, the federal grant money to buy them is all but gone – and these P25 two-way radios are much more expensive than regular ones.

That was the dilemma facing one Arizona municipality whose fire department needed P25 radios, but was being quoted outrageous prices of up to $5,000 per radio by Motorola salesmen.

They simply could not afford the amount of radios they needed at those prices.

Until they found us.

“You don’t need to spend a fortune for your P25 two-way radios.”

When this was communicated to the fire chief, the sense of relief was palpable – but he still had his doubts.

Motorola had so thoroughly entrenched itself with government officials nationwide over the years that it was practically the only brand anyone knew, capturing an estimated 80 percent of the market. So when we started talking about RCA, he was a little skeptical at first.

To convince him to switch, we programmed a couple of our RCA RPX4500 radios to work with his existing ones and shipped them off the same day for him to test them out as loaners.

Flawless operation at the best price

When he saw how flawlessly the RCA radios worked with his current setup, and how these were actually louder and sounded clearer than the comparable Motorolas, he was hooked. All we had to do was talk price and seal the deal.

Well, he was in for a big surprise, because we were able to put together a package which got him SIX TIMES as many radios as he could have gotten had he stuck with Motorola.

The fire department was able to get all of the new P25 radios it needed while saving a LOT of money – we are talking tens of thousands of dollars.

To this day, this fire department remains a happy customer.

All the features you need

Unlike Motorola, RCA does not put useless features in its radios to drive up costs and block out competitors. In some states Motorola installed proprietary encryption on its radios which prevented compatibility with other brands, for instance.

Instead, our radios only have the features you really need. For example, our P25 two-way radios are interoperable, as they should be, to communicate with other companies’ radios in emergency situations.

Also, the sound on the RPX4500/4600 is loud and clear, and the battery life is long. Military-grade strength ensures your radios will be around for years – and our four-year warranty reflects that (the longest in the biz!)

It’s just a great radio, and we offer it at a great price.

If you would to test a unit out, no strings attached, just call me at 877-401-3659 from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Pacific Time to see if you meet our requirements. If you decide to buy, for large orders, we can even set you up with credit terms if you qualify.

I want to make switching to RCA a no-brainer and painless for you. Call me.

How to Get the Best Deal When Buying an Affordable Two-way Radio

Whether you are in one of the many industries that rely on two-radios for their communication needs already or you are looking to transition from cell phones/older radios, you are going to be looking to save some money.

With increased productivity, two-way radios will add to your bottom line in the long run – but saving money on upfront costs can increase your overall savings.

Here are some cost-cutting tips to consider when looking to affordable purchase two-way radios.

Get a deal on the accessories

A fair price on the radios themselves is great, but any retailer willing to include some quality accessories is something to look out for. Items like charging stations and replacement batteries are always going to come in handy — and you’ll be purchasing them later anyway.

Specialty items like headsets and skull microphones are usually not discounted on a piece-by-piece basis, but some shops offer price reductions on these items if you buy your radio as part of a multi-unit package.

Check the service plans

While a slightly lower unit price might seem appealing, if that translates to problems when you need service, then it sure isn’t much of a bargain.

Ideally, the radio dealer won’t charge to have a look at the radio in question and will turnaround the equipment in about a week’s time. Whether or not the retailer repairs radios in-house with trained techs and a large inventory of parts is another important consideration. Some dealers do not have the ability to repair a unit themselves, so have to ship back to the factory. This can mean BIG delays in getting your radio back.

Investigate for trade-in credit

If your business is already using two-way radios, but perhaps the models have grown outdated, then a partial buy back or trade-in credit is something you’re going to want to look into. Discount Two Way Radio has created the nation’s only Cash 4 Clunkers program designed to assist businesses reduce upfront costs and upgrade to excellent new digital radios like the RCA BR200D. As long as it was made in the last ten years, bears all the original accessories and your organization is based in the US or Canada, they are eligible for trade-in credit toward the purchase of new equipment.

Buy the right radio

Depending on your business and its particular needs, you’re going to require certain functions for your radios over others. Weatherproofing might be a must. Or perhaps you require an interoperable radio which meets the P25 standard, like the RCA RPX4500.

Beware of the extra bells and whistles which you will never use, however, because they might cost you hundreds or even thousands of dollars for no good reason. Does your two-way radio really need Bluetooth? Probably not. Does it need the ability to text? Again, depending on your company’s needs…not likely. So save money and get only what you need…a two-way radio with clear, reliable communication.

By following these tips you can ensure you are not only getting the right radios for your situation but also the most bang for your buck. If you are in the market for two-way radios, please contact us and let us show you the most cost-effective way to do it.
